It has been a privilege to be part of this important forum. For four days, MEDays has once again proven why it is the leading voice of the Global South. It has brought together leaders, experts, thinkers, investors, visionaries and policymakers from across the world. And it has reminded us that Global South is no longer a guest in world affairs. We are now central to shaping the future.

I sincerely thank His Majesty King Mohammed the Sixth (VI) for his leadership and vision. Morocco has demonstrated again a firm commitment to dialogue, development and cooperation. We thank the Government of Morocco, the Amadeus Institute and the people of Tangier for the exceptional hospitality, organization and welcome.

This year’s theme is fitting for the moment we live in. The world is divided. Trust between nations is weakening. Competition is rising. The global system is shifting in real time. And many countries are struggling to navigate a fast-changing and uncertain world.

But this forum has sent a different message. A message of possibility. A message of responsibility. A message that fractures are not the end of the story. They are the beginning of reinvention.

Over the last four days, we have spoken honestly and seriously. We discussed the future of global governance. Security and peace. Climate pressures. Energy transitions. Digital realities. Economic sovereignty. Trade. Integration. Youth futures. South-South cooperation. And Africa’s growing role in the new global balance.

The conversations were not abstract. They were practical, strategic and forward-looking. And one conclusion is clear.

The world is changing—and the Global South must lead in shaping that change.

Africa and the Global South are no longer spectators. We are not waiting for solutions designed elsewhere. We are ready to design, defend and execute our own.

This forum also reminded us that unity is a regional imperative. No single nation, no matter how large or powerful, can face today’s challenges alone. The strength of Africa—and the Global South—will come from speaking with clearer voices, coordinated strategies and shared priorities. When we move together, the world listens.

For Somalia, MEDays has been a moment of deeper learning and partnership. Our nation is turning a new chapter. We are stabilizing, reforming and rebuilding. We are ready to contribute more to regional stability, shared economic growth and collaborative development.

We do not come here asking for sympathy. We come as partners—ready to offer ideas, cooperation and solutions.

This year’s forum also demonstrates the growing power of Morocco’s Atlantic and continental vision—linking regions, unlocking trade and opening new paths for Africa’s development. These are the kinds of ideas the world needs now: ambitious, practical and rooted in partnership.

I also recognize the impressive energy that MEDays has created through the Investment Summit. Beyond speeches and reflections, it has opened real opportunities, real engagements and real commitments. This is the spirit the world needs—forums that move from analysis to action.

As we close this edition of MEDays, I want to echo three simple messages:

We must protect the space for dialogue. Talking together is not weakness.

It is leadership. In a polarized world, communication is a strategic asset.

The global South must believe in its own power. We have the resources, the markets, the people and the ideas. We are no longer marginal. We are essential.

Thirdly, the future must be built with fairness. Fair development financing. Fair trade systems. Fair representation in global decision-making. Fair partnerships that respect sovereignty.

MEDays has become more of a compass than a mere conference. A forum where the Global South defines its voice, its agenda and its future—not in reaction, but in leadership.

We leave Tangier encouraged. We leave inspired. And we leave reminded that history does not move on its own. People move it. Nations move it. Decisions move it. Unity moves it.

Africa and the Global South are not waiting for history to unfold.

We are now helping to write the next chapter.

With that, I thank you all, and I congratulate the Amadeus Institute and His Majesty’s Government on another exceptional edition.

May the decisions and ideas born here transform into action, partnership and progress.
