PM Barre appointed several new ministers to key portfolios in a significant reshuffle of the Federal Government's Council of Ministers.
On 17 March 2025, Prime Minister H.E. Hamza Abdi Barre announced a significant cabinet reshuffle, appointing several new members to the government with a focus on key ministries and deputy ministerial positions.
The appointments included Jibril Abdirashid Haji Abdi as Minister of Defense, Abdulkadir Mohamed Nur as Minister of Ports and Maritime Transport, Mahmoud Ahmed Aden (Geesood) as Minister of Trade and Industry, Mohamed Farah Nur as Minister of Transportation and Aviation, and Mohamed Abdulkadir Ali as Minister of Youth and Sports.
The reshuffle was carried out in consultation with President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud and coincided with the launch of the National Transformation Plan.
