H.E. Ayub Ismail is the Minister of Public Works, Reconstruction & Housing of the Federal Government of Somalia.

In his role, he is responsible for infrastructure planning, regulation, and delivery in the country. He also leads on housing policy, strategy, oversight, and delivery.

Minister Ayub Ismail is implementing the critical national urban development and regeneration agenda as one of the main priorities in Somalia’s National Transformation Plan. He is also championing attracting private sector investment into Somalia’s economy through enabling infrastructure.

Minister Ayub has served as an independent journalist, senior communications adviser at the Office of the Prime Minister, director of the office of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, and diplomat. He was previously elected as a senator before becoming a member of the parliament.
