Cabinet Approves National Transformation Plan (NTP 2025-2029)

On 23 February 2025, the Council of Ministers of the Federal Government of Somalia, under the leadership of Prime Minister H.E. Hamza Abdi Barre, formally approved the National Transformation Plan (NTP 2025-2029) during an extraordinary Cabinet meeting chaired by the Prime Minister.The NTP is a comprehensive five-year strategy aimed at addressing critical socio-economic challenges identified in the Ninth National Development Plan (NDP-9), including governance gaps, limited economic diversification, and insufficient infrastructure.The plan builds on Somalia's progress under the Heavily Indebted Poor Countries (HIPC) initiative, which secured significant debt relief and enabled the reallocation of resources to critical sectors.
