Abdiweli Mohamed Ali

Abdiweli Mohamed Ali (also known as Abdiweli Gaas) is a Somali-American economist who served as Prime Minister of Somalia from 19 June 2011 to 17 October 2012 during the transitional period. He devised the formal Roadmap for the End of Transition, which set benchmarks for establishing permanent democratic institutions. Before his premiership he held academic posts and served as Minister of Planning and International Cooperation in the Transitional Federal Government, and he later became President of Puntland.
