Biography
Nur Hassan Hussein, also known as Nur Adde, was a Somali politician who served as Prime Minister of Somalia from 24 November 2007 to 14 February 2009. Beginning his career in the 1950s as a police officer in Italian Somaliland, he later served as chief police officer and attorney general under President Siad Barre before working with the Somali Red Crescent Society. As prime minister he promoted peacekeeping efforts and negotiated the 2008 Djibouti truce; he died of COVID-19 in London on 1 April 2020 at age 82.
